I was reading an article that stated Clay Aiken had confirmed in an interview with People Magazine, that yes, he’s gay. No shock value for me there as nothing really surprises me anymore. What did bother me though, were people’s inability to leave a valued opinion in regards to what they believe. Spewing forth “your a #$%^&*! idiotic bible thumper” or “you’re going to burn in #$%^&*! hell because you’re gay” adds nothing to the conversation and the only point it makes, is that you have a foul mouth.

I understand that the whole “is homosexuality wrong” debate tends to ruffle people’s feathers and often times things become a bit heated. That’s the way it is with many moral issues and in all honesty, not only is it to be expected, but there’s nothing wrong with being passionate about what you believe. The thing is, once it becomes nothing more than name calling and vulgarities, it ceases to be a debate, or even a discussion for that matter. It simply becomes a ridiculous waste of breath.

I totally agree with you! I do believe being Gay is wrong because it says so in the Bible, But who I am to cast a stone? Like I never sin? come on, I cannot stand those people who give christian’s a bad name, they are not showing God’s love, just spreading hate.

Excellent post!

We need to remember that God doesn’t play favorites. Using nasty language is also sin and Jesus paid for our vulgar words and well as vulgar acts. We are all in need of Jesus. Heaven forbid our words make the message difficult to hear.

Aren’t we all humans whatever our sexual preferences? I believe that we have no right to judge others as much as others do us.

Self-righteousness is one attitude I think, that have caused most wars in our midst today. If only people would be more tolerant of each other. My fear is for all the children of the world to grow-up in an environment devoid of love and understanding.

I think the Catholic Church’s stance is that being gay is not a sin but that having sexual relations outside of marriage is sinful. So, even by that measurement, yes God does love Clay Aiken. Even the Pope would agree that God loves us all, sinners or not.
